Summer
Office Hours
Beginning June 4th,
Monday-Thursday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Fridays, 7:30 to 12:00 pm.
Summer Serve
We are looking for volunteers of all
ages to take part in hands-on service and acts of kindness. Summer Serve
consists of a project someone needs to have done, from small household
projects to yard work, and then we do it...no questions asked, no strings
attached. Service to improve the community and someone's day.
We will meet at 8:30 am each day
during the week of August 9-13th to discuss the service opportunities, and
carry them out. We will work until noon and finish the day with a light lunch.
Sign up for a few hours, or you could serve the entire week.
Prayer
Garden With summer’s
arrival we are enjoying our Prayer Garden. If you have not already ventured
in, it is located between the Sanctuary and Mason Hall. The fountain and
statue have been added and the flowers are in bloom. This is a peaceful
sanctuary where you can stop by and pray.
The pathway
leading up to the garden consists of paving stones. We will once again be
accepting donations for the engraved stones. For a $100.00 donation, you can
have the name(s) of your loved one engraved on a paving stone. No more than
two names per stone please. These stones are a wonderful way to remember your
loved ones, and will be a lasting, loving memorial to them.
Please stop
in to the church office if you would like to purchase a memory brick.
Please Remember
the General Fund Your
generosity to our air conditioning fund is wonderful however, we ask that you
also remember to continue to give to our general fund. This fund is necessary
to pay for heat, lights, air conditioning, office expenses and for our
wonderful staff. We have now borrowed $30,000 to aid us
with our summer expenses. Please continue to support our regular mission and ministry.
Thank you!
Service Projects Needed
If you are in need, or
know someone who may be in need of some help with small household projects or
yard work please contact the church office by August 9th.

Dead
Sea Scrolls Explore
the greatest archaeological find of the 20th century—the Dead Sea Scrolls,
which include text fragments that are steeped in religious, historic, and
cultural significance. The Dead Sea Scrolls, a special exhibition at the
Science Museum of Minnesota, offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for
all generations to witness something truly remarkable. Visitors will also
experience a gallery devoted to The Saint John's Bible, the newest hand-scribed illustrated Bible.
We will be taking a chartered bus to
the exhibition on Saturday, September 11th. We will leave the church
at 8:30 am, arrive at the Old Country Buffet for an 11:30 am

long been hidden from the West. Following the movie, we will view the Dead Sea
Scrolls and the Saint John’s Bible. We will also have an opportunity to view
other areas of the Science Museum. We will leave the museum around 5:00 pm
and return home. If you want to grab a snack before heading home, there are
places in the museum to do so.
